After getting tossed by the wind on the peak, the real trouble begins when you run up against the snowdrifts laid out over already shifty trails on cliffs covered with shale. Over a mile of road hiking at the end which was annoying but worth it for the experience of doing the loop. After following, losing, finding, losing and finally finding the right trails, the descent down the west side of the loop is far more straight forward once you've put 2-3 miles between the peak and you.
